Sample Ledger Assurance
Six weeks to harden how you design samples, run them through a financial auditing app for audit sampling management, and close the file with evidence that survives review.
What you will practice
- Module 1 — Population honesty Clean boundaries, completeness checks, and when a population should be split before any calculator opens.
- Module 2 — Stratified selection Build strata that match risk language in the audit plan, then document why items crossed into high-value bands.
- Module 3 — Monetary-unit sampling Interval logic, seed control, and explaining MUS results to non-specialist reviewers.
- Module 4 — Exception choreography Log deviations, expand thoughtfully, and keep conclusions tied to the original objective.
- Module 5 — Pack assembly Assemble a sample pack a partner can skim in fifteen minutes without hunting for missing links.
- Module 6 — Live engagement lab Apply the full sequence to a synthetic Korean trading company dataset with peer critique.
Learning outcomes
- Defend sample size and method choices in writing.
- Operate sampling workflows consistently across engagements.
- Produce exception narratives that state impact without vague fillers.
- Coach juniors using a shared vocabulary for strata and expansion.

FAQ
Do I need a specific sampling application?
No. Concepts transfer across tools. Demonstrations use generic screens so habits remain useful whatever financial auditing app your firm licenses.
Is this suitable for first-year associates?
Best for seniors and managers. Associates may join if a supervisor co-reviews their packs; otherwise the Field Sample Sprint is a better entry.
What is a real limitation of this course?
We do not certify statistical software implementations or replace your firm’s methodology manual. If your methodology forbids MUS on certain cycles, those modules become reference only.
Learner notes
“Module 4’s exception choreography checklist is now taped inside our team channel. The live lab dataset felt a bit dense, yet it exposed gaps we had been papering over.”

“I came for MUS clarity and left with better strata labels. Rating: ★★★★☆ — would have liked one more manufacturing example.”
